The fourth Bourne novel. This book was an obvious attempt by the publishers to cash in on the popularity of the movies. Not so good as previous books.

It was nice but didn't enjoy as much as the first three books...

A poorly written spin off book, not by Ludlum. Capitalizing on his good name, this book had little if anything to do with the original Bourne books, NOT WORTH READING.

A below average terrorist plot novel. What was most disappointing was Van Lustbader changing the personality of Jason Bourne. Either honor Ludlum by keeping true to his character or create your own character and name.

Good, quick read of an ok thriller! Nothing new, just a typical one man save the world stuff..

If this is the first time you read the Bourne series and have previously watched the film series like I have, you will be severely dissapointed by this book. First, this isn't the same Bourne we see in the movie versions. The Jason Bourne in this book is a Vietnam vet which would likely place him in the 60-70 year old age range, a far cry from the young 20 or 30-something Matt Damon in the film version. Secondly, the story line becomes a bit convoluted in this book. Even the hand-to-hand combat scenes that occur get blurred and you no longer know who is who, who is injured, and who is yelling at who. Furthermore, the author (not Robert Ludlum) takes the liberty of often switching between numerous scenes and characters in the book often losing where we last left off with Jason Bourne's last scene.

I'm a huge Ludlum fan and have read many of his books, but I'm afriad Eric Van Lustbader has messed this one up. Ludlum must be turning in his grave.

Man, I wish I could give zero stars. Just...mind-blowingly bad.

I used to watch the Bourne movies with my grandfather, so when I noticed the book series on Hoopla, I thought I'd give the books a try. Unfortunately, the books are far more graphic than the movies, rating 'R' in pretty much all the rating categories. I don't need to know all the details of killing and torture, nor the villains sex life, nor the frequent f-bombs and other profanities dropped by military, political, and police personnel. For that reason, I won't be reading any of the other books.

The writing was solid. There are so many layers of double agents, ulterior motives, questionable loyalties, betrayals and lies, but they all make sense once they are revealed.

My favorite part of the story, and the one reason I wish I was interested in continuing with the other books, was the character arc of one of the villains and the progression of interactions between him and Jason.

Didn't bother finishing. The plot was transparent and the writing very awkward. This is the second novel I have tried of a dead author's character brought back to life by a ghost writer, and hated both. Are any worth reading?
