I was going to give this a 2 or 2.5 because the dialogue and writing is a bit short/stunted, maybe more middle grade than young adult. But the plot and characters are so intriguing that I gave it a 3, especially because I’ll continue and read the odd sisters.

This book was okay. Definitely a fun Disney read and an interesting explanation to mother Gothel. It did feel at times like I was reading the second or third book in a series without reading the first one. Not sure if I actually did that or if I just didn‰ЫЄt catch on to some of the storyline.

I am a sucker for Disney. But I love horror/thriller books too. So I felt this would be a good combo. It was. I loved that it tied in some things from the movie from a different perspective so now when I watch the movie with my kids I’m seeing this story on the other side. My fault that I came in reading this book first not knowing there were others. Dying to read odd sisters since apparently they correlate with all these books. But it was a super fast read and even my older kid loved listening to a few pages here and there. Definitely need and want to read the rest!
