I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series, it makes you think about he characters so differently once you read their back story. I love how they have all linked in together too with the odd sisters. I’m so excited for the odd sisters story next. The attention to detail is amazing & everything is all explained so there are no loose ends.
Great read - just make sure you read the others in the series first, especially mistress of evil.

After the third and fourth books being 5 stars for me in the series I was hoping that it would continue; but sadly it didn't. I found myself getting lost a few times while I was reading it like I did with the second book, which is a shame because Tangled is another favourite Disney movie for me. I did enjoy that the book focused more on the Disney villain (in this case Gothel/Mother Gothel) and her storyline and gave you easter eggs that connected to the movie. That being said I had grown to liking the other characters that you were introduced to throughout the other books and it wasn't until 1/3 of the way through the book that those characters reappeared and/or there were connections made to the other Disney villains. Moving on to book 6 with hopes that the series starts to pick up again.
I don't think I enjoyed this one as much as As Old As Time. I loved Disney's Tangled and the character of Gothel was so creepy that I thought I'd definitely enjoy reading a twisted tale about her. However, I felt that this book dragged and it was a bit annoying in some areas. I only really enjoyed Rapunzel's entrances here and there!
5! It's by far my favorite Fairytale series! These are so amazing and well written! As I was reading Gothel's story, I did find myself wondering where the Odd Sisters were??? A series that gets better with each book! I can NOT wait to read Odd Sisters' novel!!!
The cover of book was okay but it little bit boring side. This book is lot darker then I thought be and I think the book started out good. I found at the how Gothel was portrayed and her origin was interesting also I found the side charachers forgettable.

I love fractured fairytales but this one was fairly dark and the writing did not engage me.
It is so crazy to see a movie and think that you would never feel bad for the villain. Then you read a book like this. Now all I can think is, "Poor Gothel!"
The book had a great flow. I loved hearing Gothel's side of the story.
