I just found this book a little lack luster. I enjoyed some of the twists and turns but this book just wasn’t for me!

I enjoyed reading this book and enjoyed the main characters. However, the end didn’t hold as big of a punch as the beginning for me. I felt a little disconnected from the momentum I felt when I started the book. Despite this, I know I will read the next book if there is one—But mostly for the enjoyment of the character development.

You’ll Be the Death of Me by Karen McManus follows three high school friends who skip school and witness the murder of one of their classmates. Slowly, they discover that their small town harbors dark secrets and that there are some people who cannot be trusted.

I thought the book was a solid young adult mystery/thriller experience. That being said, this book felt a bit forced compared to other books that I’ve read from McManus. The characters seemed to go out of their way to put themselves in the situations that they were in and because the threefold them are isolated for a good chunk of the book, there’s little opportunity for the reader to put the pieces together themselves.

I thought the ending was good, if not a bit rushed, but it wasn’t out of line for what I would expect from the genre. Overall, I give it 3 stars.

I found it quite exhausting because of how slow it was, and it wasn't the best out of her work- still good though!

That’s book follows a group of friends trying to solve a murder they have been wrongly accused of. We follow them through the ups and downs of there life, as we see how each one of there behaviours reflect upon the other.
