This was such a fun and quick read! I really enjoyed the epistolary form, especially combined with the sections between Charlotte and Femi where they're reviewing the evidence in what feels like real time. And setting it in a small town drama club was a stroke of British genius tbh. There's no doubt that I'll be reading more from Janice Hallett!

So engaging and unique. Great format for a crime/mystery book. Haven’t read anything like it. Idk how I feel about the ending, and I wish there was more legal analysis, but that’s just me.

Amazing book and super cleverly written. It's almost like one of those murder mystery game boxes. However: there are some major content warnings beyond the murder mystery part, including suicide, chronic illness, child death, and sexual assault.

I really like when books feel like nothing has happened, and then all of the sudden a bombshell drops and you realize stuff has been happening the whole time! This felt like… like Liane Moriarty meets Agatha Christie. I was left with some loose ends (who the actual f was Jackie Marsh? Did she ever get her passport back?), but mostly felt like the author gave appropriate closure and answers, without spoon feeding it to the reader.
