I only recently discovered Gene Luen Yang, and no doubt part of my feelings for this book come from the heightened climate regarding the AAPI community and a recent viewing of Shang-Chi, but whether or not those are factors behind this, I will say: this is easily one of the best Superman stories I've read ever. Both the story itself and Gene's essay at the end spoke to me on real and authentic level, and I really hope more and more people try reading this.
