When I saw a recommendation for this on FB, I thought it looked cute and figured I'd give it a shot. It was a cute story and I really liked how the best friend's older brother and the heroine secretly loved each other yet neither of them knew it. The author tied up the storyline with the pregnancy and made it so everyone got what they needed out of the unique circumstance.

My only issue with the story was with the epilogue and the sex scene between Lily and Sloan. If their sex had the kink/sex toy angle to it from the beginning, it wouldn't have matter. But it felt like I missed something big changed between them in the 2 years since the end of the story and the epilogue.

Overall, a fullfilling read.

Lily is a 19 year old girl that end up pregnant with her best friend Cole's baby but is in love with Cole's older brother Sloan. What is a 19 yr old unwed pregnant girl with no money to do?

The McClain men believe in taking care what is theirs whether it be theirs personally or their families. Deciding not to tell Cole he is the father in a small town that is in everyone's business makes Lily and Sloan jump into situations quicker than most relationships. Cole was one of the few that was able to leave the small town to make something of himself until the truth is revealed.

The unveiling of feelings between Sloan and Lily was radiant.

My favorite passage:
“He’s my blood,” Sloan said very slowly, very carefully. “And I take care of what’s mine, Lily.”

Positives points:
1. I loved that the author provided great background for the characters in detail.
2. The characters were written true to their morals and who they truly were throughout the story.
3. That there was a great resolution for everyone.

Negative points:
1. The story is over

Everything written by this author is golden! This book sucked me right in and I had a hard time putting it down. I enjoyed how the book was believable and down to earth. It wasn't like a fairytale that would never happen. I can't really say anything about the story without giving away anything. All I can say is, go read the book.

Would I recommend to others: yes
Language and sexual content: strong on both counts
Appropriate age: 18+

This is the third Morgana Phoenix book that I've read and I've got to say: WOW. She is definitely in my top five favorite authors' list. I love the way she writes her characters. I love that she makes them real. Lily and Sloan, oh my God. In a book-world full of rich CEOs and unrealistically naive heroines, she always manages to create characters that are rich in the most important of ways; they are real people that you can connect with. Hard working, protective people like Sloan and genuine, brave girls like Lily.
The writing was flawless and the development smooth. A true pleasure to read. I couldn't put it down. If you want something genuine that will warm your heart, this is the book for you. You will want a Sloan of your own.
5 Stars from me. I would give more if I could.

I was not quite sure at first as the heroine is pregnant with the baby of the hero's brother. Awkward!

But this is explained. Lily and Cole have been friends since early childhood and although Lily has had a major crush on Sloan (Cole's older brother) she lost her virginity to Cole because of a pact they made as young teens. And is now pregnant. They are not in love with each other.

She does want to tell Cole, but Cole has made it to college and has a girlfriend he is crazy about. She wants him to have a future. Sloan understands as he has been taking care of Cole since he was a teen himself, but he does not want Lily to give up the baby for adoption as the baby will be family. Plus... he has been in love with Lily for years.

Very nicely written. Likeable characters. There was just this strange sex scene at the end that was a bit much and seemed out of place. But I would read the other ones in this series.
