I’ve found myself loving books like this- intertwining stories meeting at crossroads. This book was intense and sad and real. The epilogue was even more so.

3.5

Don't be fooled by the word "SECRET". If you are anything like me, you figured out the "SECRET" about 50 pages into the story, and after that it was just a waiting game on how and when the proverbial cat would be let out of the bag.

It wasn't badly written. The characters were likable. The structure was fast-paced and interesting. But - and maybe it's just me - if you're going to put the word "SECRET" in the title... it better be juicy, twisted, and - I don't know - a "SECRET".

Three stars.

DID NOT FINISH

Audiobook. Loved the Aussie accents and Moriarty used some interesting storytelling methods. But honestly I only made it most of the way through before I got sick of the story and looked up the ending (doesn’t happen to me often). I didn’t bother finishing. It was captivating enough, but it got too sad and depressing for me once I could see where things were headed and the cynical depressing-ness was not something I needed in my life at the time.

More human interest than mystery. And also, Australia?!

Ergens een beetje voorspelbaar, maar goed genoeg geschreven en opgebouwd om het toch nog niet irritant-voorspelbaar te maken.
