Short easy thriller. First half started off strong and fell flat until the end. Not a bad book but not great

This was so hard to finish. There was promise bur didn't live up to it. Pages and pages dragged on . I kept going hoping for a spark or something. But, no. Just a typical ending that tied up all loose ends.

Nicola Sanders nos presenta este thriller que me recuerda un poco a "Extraños en un Tren", pero con un giro más unidireccional y siniestro.
Amy y Jason parecen tener la vida perfecta, pero lo que nadie sabe es que Amy vive un infierno con Jason, un psicópata, narcisista y controlador que no deja de maltratarla a cada paso que da.
Un día, Amy conocerá en un crucero a Liz, una mujer idéntica a ella, y tendrá la oportunidad de tomar su identidad después de un accidente.
Se atreverá a huir de su esposo y hacer una nueva vida, haciéndose pasar por Liz? O dirá la verdad y volverá con Jason?
Esta historia me gustó porque refleja de manera adecuada lo que implica relacionarse con un psicópata narcisista; el que todos le crean a él y no a ti, el no poder ir a ningún lugar sin su aprobación o vigilancia, el vivir con temor... Todo esto es reflejado correctamente en el libro y considero que eso es un gran punto a favor.
Por otro lado, la parte del suspenso me mantuvo muy entretenida y no quería parar de leer, hasta descubrir qué sucedería al final.
Sin embargo, en los penúltimos episodios, la trama parece enmarañarse y revolverse, se hace un poco tediosa, y eso le quitó una estrella. Aunque el final me pareció adecuado (tampoco espectacular).
Cuatro estrellas.

I read another novel by this author prior to this one and LOVED it, so I expected great things of this one. It was good, but lacked the emotion and investment I felt for the other novel. I think if I had read this first, I may have thought better of it.
The beginning had me hooked, the middle was where I started to drift a tad, but the last few pages are where the action happened.

Meh? I saw so many excellent reviews for this and I was in the mood for a twisty thriller so I picked it up right away. It was... okay. There's this thing in books where someone walks in and witnesses something that they totally misconstrue and then the main character just stands there repeating lame lines like "This isn't my fault!" instead of just saying what the hell is going on. This was FULL of those scenarios. And they were a little much. Also, it seriously dragged in the middle, and the ending was unsatisfactory, and audiobook narrator was annoying. Sorry, I just wasn't that into it.

Love a book that starts strong from the beginning and continues throughout.
Perfect easy read for Light entertainment. I very much appreciate the fact that the author did not add filler to make this book longer than it needed to be. Happy with the book and will read more from this author.
