This is a sweet, joyous, much-needed story, wherein a young person struggles with what it means to be from multiple cultures, and ultimately realizes how to cherish and celebrate each one. I absolutely loved this and am so glad young kids have this book to look to and see reflections of their own experiences.

I received a copy of I Can Be All Three by Salima Alikhan and illustrated by Noor Sofi from Simon and Schuster Canada in exchange for an honest review.

As Multicultural Day approaches at school, a young girl wonders how she should present who she is. Her Papa is from India, her Mama from Germany, and the young girl is growing up in America. All three make up her cultural identity and rather than just choosing one, she realizes that she can be all three. As she proudly presents at Multicultural Day at school, she finds that like her, others also come from multiple cultures.

This book is a celebration of all cultures and of helping young children recognize the beauty of coming from more than one culture if that is their story. The picture book is beautifully illustrated and contributes to the wonderful storytelling in I Can Be All Three.
