I expected this to be a completely different book, instead it surprised me in a great way. I really enjoyed this story and it had a good ending.

My book slump continues. The character development isn't there which makes for a long read. Not worth your time.

Possibly the most irritating book I have ever read. I couldn't put it down. I cared about these people but they kept making dumb choices and Arlen needed to either kill the bad guys outright or WALK AWAY.

loved it ! This one goes on my staff pick shelf at work. Enjoyed his last book So Cold The River. One of my new favorite authors.

This was such a fun read/listen. The reader was fabulous! I kind of expected it to end a little more tragically than it did. Still worth reading.

Excerpt from Linus's Blanket Koryta manages to balance chills and tension-filled suspense throughout this story of a man who has spent his life on the run, afraid of not only what he can do, but also of the barely contained guilt he feels over the death of his father. Overcoming his demons have serious ramifications in his attempts helping the love smitten Paul come to the aid of cool, collected Rebecca. Strong characterizations, rich sense of place, a balanced and integrated plot with a hint of an uneasy love triangle makes The Cypress House one of my near perfect reads of 2011. Highly Recommended.

I read this book as it was recommended by Stephen King in an issue of Entertainment Weekly (of best summer reads). I was totally surprised by how well done it was! The author paints his literal landscapes with a lot of detail, and the characters are well thought out, also. It is suspenseful and mysterious, sad, and romantic, all at the same time. For me it was a page-turner, and I stayed up late to finish it.
