This is not my first Auster book, but more than any previous of his books I’ve read, it is an ode to story telling. He’s a master of his craft. He is a true great story teller. A writer that plays with words and ideas creating a beautiful flow that takes the reader by the hand and goes to unexpected places. In both stories he breaks the 4th wall and it’s always done an intelligent way, always surprising and interesting.  The stories are not very long, however they contain so many plots that go in so many directions. This could be the description of a confusing book, but that is not at all the case. On the contrary, it’s sharp and wit.
I found myself upset a couple of times as he shifted the narrative abandoning a character or plot that really Interested me, just to be completely seduced by something totally new a few pages later.
We all know that life is made of stories. We all love them, but not all of us have the gift of telling. Paul Auster has it.
