Cosby is such a talented author and his books never disappoint. In comparison to others, this one wasn’t my favorite although I can’t pinpoint a specific reason. I did feel like this book focused more on the community than individual characters, which was cool. It’s always rare to find a book that you can call the town a character and have it done well and this is one of those cases.

S.A. Cosby's "Southern Noir" novels have quickly become some of my favorite. As his previous works, this one too is atmospheric, dark, layered, packing in a lot of big topics.

It's a story typical of Cosby's unique niche style. As a thriller/crime, it is on the slow side and not a pageturner per se. As a work of contemporary fiction with a crime element, it's top notch and engaging. Titus is a likable and complex character. I would love to read more about him.

Overall another great Cosby story, about a part of the US/world that probably doesn't get much attention, making it all the more important.

I rather enjoy a Christ-haunted psychological terror type novel and this was very solid. Great writing, plot, setting.... Very unsettling but beautifully written!

King Craft’s Book Club Pick. Not a book I would have picked up on my own, but was enthralled nonetheless. S.A. Crosby is able to weave historical facts and current day issues into a fictional town on the verge of a breakdown. I found myself staying awake later than usual to find out “who dun it.” While I was enthralled throughout the book there were several parts where I felt removed from the story. These mostly included moments with Darlene or Kelli.
