An intense murder mystery that touches on racism, religion, and police brutality. So good from beginning to end. Have you questioning every character

It kept me engaged and wasn't predictable, however, this isn’t goosebump inflicting, I might need a nightlight horror. Although things that occur throughout the story and have similarly happened in real life are horrendous, I’d say it’s more thriller. The story revolves around a small town in Virginia that is still, like most places, plagued with racism. The Sherif, a black man does his best to bring justice and safety to his home town all while battling demons from his past. This becomes one of his greatest challenges as there is a serial killer on the loose.

This is my first book by this author and I liked the simplicity of it. It was an easy read that kept me intrigued. I want to read more by Mr. Cosby

Gritty, but so good! SA Cosby is so masterful with words. Wish this was part of a series as Titus is a great character.

This book was a serious page turner! When I put my kindle down, I could not stop thinking of this book. The tackling of race, class, internalized racism, while as a reader being forced grapple with what it means for a Sheriff to be Black…..bravo S.A. Cosby! Bravo!

Very cliched book often, but the writing is propulsive and the world-building is excellent. Keep me the hell away from this town.
