Riley Sager

4.01 AVERAGE

I was pleasantly surprised by this story. This was my 4th Riley Sager book and some don't get good ratings from me. This one however, is probably my #1 or #2 favorite of his. Enjoyed the spooky house and history with a realistic ending. Had Haunting of Hill House vibes

Something I both loved and hated about this book is how much it reminded me of the Haunting of Hill House TV show. I think Saeger’s book effectively used a lot of those same tropes of the show, but it was also disappointing how much it felt like a knock-off. The various plot twists, especially towards the end, were surprising and kind of whiplash-inducing. The book was mostly okay and didn’t necessarily impress me the way I’d wanted it to. Not a bad read; not a great read. Just a decent read that has its moments but overall, could’ve been better.

Engaging and did start off a little spooky. But likes how it all came together in the end with everything making sense. I did not see the twist with why the family left so suddenly, but it makes sense that they thought she killed her . I’m glad that
Her memories can back (kinds convenient) so that justice could be served for everyone
