The book was eerie and toed the line of keeping you guessing if the one narrator was reliable or not.

Very creepy. Loved the alternating chapters of Maggie in present day and her dad's book.

Bad ending. And the reviews that say there were so many twists... they don't count when they all happen on top of each other, super rushed, at the end.

Liked it a lot more than Final Girls, but overall too long and didn't have a satisfying payoff.

Disappointing to be honest. It’s not what you think it’s about.  Unsure why the writer called it “home before dark” has nothing to do with the premise of the book. Stephanie Wrobel compares it to “The Haunting of Hill House” which is ludicrous. Good twist at the end though. Little annoyed at the main characters lack of memory about everything throughout the book.
