I was actually scared, I had to read or watch something after it at night.
Good writing, I think I felt the fear that Maggie felt in that house.
I never truly try to guess thriller endings so some people might say they guessed it, but I sure didn’t.

Another Riley Sager masterpiece. This book was structured properly with dual narrative that makes sense. There are sufficient red herrings and twists and turns to keep you guessing! Are there really ghosts at Baneberry Hall?
You’ll have to read to find out!

As someone whose name is also Maggie, I felt offended enough that I will never read another work of his

A hateful character and, to borrow a term used in the book, “overreaching” when it came to the storyline that mostly resembled facets of supernatural occurences straight out of the Netflix series: Haunting of Hill House. Lastly, what made me bump it into a .5 was the inevitable plot twist at the end.

The beginning pulled me in right away. It was fast-paced, creepy, and super hard to put down. I was really into the mystery and the whole atmosphere Riley Sager created. But the ending kind of lost me. It was twist after twist, and instead of being shocked, I just felt a little overwhelmed. Still, it was an entertaining read and I’m glad I picked it up.
