Wow this book was a wild ride! I am absolutely in shock not necessarily from the last twist, but the story was written so well! Riley Sager got me to connect to the characters and the way he explained a haunted house but made it real was just so intriguing! It was a fun ride and I enjoyed it. I especially loved Maggie’s dad, I sort of wish all what he wrote in the book was real but it’s a thriller so what else could you ask for? Loved it!

I will say I didn’t expect the killer of Petra to be Marta but I did expect Marta to be involved somehow so I wasn’t super shocked. However I was completely shocked when it was indicated Maggie was the true killer, I think maybe Riley Sager should have kept it that way but then it makes sense because Marta was Miss Pennyface.

Do you like books about haunted houses? Then pick this one up, it's one of the better Sager novels.
Not sure why the AI summary says breakneck pacing. I opted out at 25% and both eras of the story MCs were still just moving in to the residence. In the words of a few great editors I know "get weirder faster"
