Murder on the Links is the second book in the Poirot series. I've read some of the books in this series but not all of them so now I'm going back and reading the series in order for the first time. This was actually a reread for me although I can honestly say I didn't remember any of it. The mystery was just twisty enough that I had no idea on the whodunnit of it all the entire time (and I basically suspected everyone at some point). And following the meticulous way that Poirot solves a mystery is always a good time. With that being said, I found Hastings to be a bit annoying in this book for lack of a better description. His instant love and attraction to every female he came across (an exaggeration but only slightly and you get the picture) was too much for me. I definitely didn't remember him being like this but maybe the focus on his love life changes in future books. Overall, I enjoyed this book but it definitely wasn't my favorite of hers. 3.5 stars is where I'm landing but rounding down.
Mystery readers who haven't yet given Agatha Christie a try should definitely pick up one of her books up. This wasn't her best book in my opinion but even then she always manages to write a solid mystery.
