Definitely predictable, but entertaining. I felt this one dragged a good bit even after the first 200 pages.

TW: Abuse / I read this so fast! It is an addictive story that you cant put down but be warned it includes some pretty graphic chapters that were hard for me to read.

I thought this book was good, I liked the manipulation and character development that you saw throughout the course. However, I feel like sometimes the manipulation was a little too obvious, that could be contributed to being the reader and not in the actual situation or me just having a little bit more knowledge on psychological stuff like that. But overall, I very much enjoyed it, and it was a sick twisted, psychological thriller.

I was reading this due to the allegations that The Housemaid was plagiarized from this so of course I wanted to be the judge of that. If The Housemaid did in fact copy this, The Housemaid was done SO much better in my opinion, in a more digestible and quick to read way. The Last Mrs. Parrish was SO boring and the MC SO unlikeable with no real motivation what so ever for all the lies and crap she was doing. Absolutely so boring, I’ll stick with Housemaid because at least the MC had real reasons for everything

Maybe it’s because I went the audiobook route, but I found the dialogue so unrealistic and there was so much time spent on interactions that weren’t actually important to forwarding the plot. Not a fave.
