interesting!! came for interspecies octopus communication and got a lot more with commentary on capitalistic greed and AI technology development. i wasnt expecting the latter, but it was a very cool read. it was a bit too science-y at times that i had a difficult time following, and i also didnt enjoy rustem and eikos POVs very much.. i understand what they add to the plot, but every time i read their chapters i was just waiting for it to get back to ha and evrim. i wish we got to see more about the language of the octopuses
but the last scene with ha and the shapesinger was so beautiful, i loved the connection the shapesinger conveyed

An interesting story on what might happen if we were to meet an alien life form with whom we might be able to communicate as well as a warning of where the human race is heading through our propensity to exploit our natural resources beyond what they are capable of providing us. Part Silent Spring, part Arrival.  The plot is fairly slow, almost too slow but there’s a lot to think about in between chapters along with semi-philosophical blurbs at the beginning of each chapter.
