I enjoyed the story of the page sisters, hated the jack Golden story.

This may be my favorite so far in the Jack of Fables series, simply because the first half of the book features a visit from Bigby Wolf, sheriff of Fabletown (and only my favorite character from the Fables series). The Bigby/Jack showdown is terrific, although the second half of the volume lags a bit by comparison.

Not the best Jack of Fables, although I do like it that Bigby Wolf shows up!

Tbh I don't really care for the Jack of Fables series. I'm just here for Babe the Ox at this point (and it's small connection to the main Fables storyline)

Most of this story is set in 1883, where Bigby Wolf (from Fables) is set to track down notorious robber Jack Candle (otherwise known as Jack of the Fables. Bigby gets to beat up Jack and take him to the Farm for punishment (pity he escapes after a year though). In this story we get one of the only occasions where Jack actually shows us some of his motivations for acting the way he does - to him Mundays (i.e you and I) are not "real people" like the Fables, so killing them is not a crime. It doesn't make him any more likable but you can understand where he is coming from.Pity we then come back to the present day with a bump, even though the Book Burner has now escaped into the real world
