I love this new to me series! An American trapped in Ireland after losing her job and her luggage makes the best of the situation with a new job and the house of her musical idol, who happens to be there still in spirit form. She meets a lot of locals and gets herself in trouble with the murderer. Can’t wait to read the next one!

A very fun, smart adventure through the Irish countryside! The real highlights of the book were the characters and the setting. The mystery itself was intricate, but I was able to guess it (perhaps a sign I read too many cozies . . . !). And of course, the theme of music throughout was so fun -- I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys orchestra, teaching, or Ireland. On top of mysteries and ghosts, of course! :)

Delightful murder mystery with just about every murder mystery trope at one point or another.
I enjoyed this book a lot but the end was a little cluttered. I liked the relationship between Gethsemane and Eamon and how she solved the mystery of his death twenty-five years ago. It was pretty obvious who the murderer was. I'm fine with ghosts and quirky Irish townspeople. But I got a little irritated with how Gethsemane is highly knowledgeable about absolutely everything. Classical music, Irish music, composers, baseball, whiskey, and was a violin virtuoso and conductor of renown. It had a cliffhanger ending leading to the next book. This book is several years old but the series is new to me so I can continue on after I take a little break and read something else.

Discovered a new author and thoroughly enjoyed the book. The storyline kept me attention and the characters where entertaining.
Who was I talking to recently about needing more mysteries that didn't give me nightmares? Here we go: it's set in a small Irish town, with a friendly ghost, and there are no serial killer profiles or body composition details. But it doesn't have the sleepiness or the dynamic that keeps me from a lot of traditional mysteries: instead of a middle aged white dude solving the murder of some poor girl gone astray, we have an African American woman solving a cold case involving one of her musical inspirations. And for her day job she's teaching an orchestra of teenage boys.
