What are the odds.

I really liked this story. It did have insta love for me which I’m not a huge fan of. Please don’t lose your mind over a guy you went on one date with. But the characters did grow on me.

Lorenzo and Catalina's story, definitely a great story full of mafia, twist, and emotional turmoil. It's dual POV and the audiobook is narrated by Scarlet Chase and Stephen Dexter, I really enjoyed Stephen's narration he was on point, creating the perfect voice for Lorenzo, accent and all. The emotions were all there, however, Scarlet was a bit different from what I expected, she did good but I loved Stephen more. The story is fantastic, with great pace, and all the brilliant things Claire Contreras is known for. A must-hear for any mafia trope lover.

This book was just alright to me. Some of the premise of the book seemed so far fetched. Like why would you agree to take your sisters college courses for her? Some random teacher that’s not the teacher… just out there for the plot.

This was a so-so read for me. Pretty tame when compared to other mafia books and from what the blurb indicated.

3 Stars!

honestly: there was no relationship building. once again it was all sex. mafia romance? no mafia. enemies to lovers? no enemies. plot? zilch.
this was one of the few reads ive enjoyed so far in 2022.
the whole thing was pretty terrible - it's a guilty pleasure for me. it's really light and nice. it made me smile. the smut was kind of comforting. i pulled an all nighter trying to finish it. i enjoyed it very much.
thank you to arrow for recommending this to me. no regrets.

I wasn't exactly sure what I was getting into with this one. I picked it up because the author will be at Readers on the River and the blurb caught my eye. There seem to be a few books about ballerinas and mafia out there. I was intrigued by the overlap. Much of the story is veiled in mystery because Catalina prefers not to know about her family's business. Loren presents himself as a mystery, yet that doesn't stop Lina from being intrigued. The chemistry is off the charts with these two. It was interesting to watch the two of them come to terms with their emotions about each other.
