I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next one. I do find it a little icky that Ava didn't tell Grayson who she was before they slept together, but I also got a little of what she was thinking. They were cute and the sex was hot. I hope we get to see Kelly's book somewhere down the road.

kind of boring and i started to care less about the characters which was unfortunate.
4/5 ⭐
I love the brother's best friend trope and this one included recognizing his best friend's little sister at first!? Grayson Nash was top tier book boyfriend material and the mouth on that man?!

I must admit that I am a big fan when author's change it up a bit and show us the MMC as being the one that is vulnerable and insecure in some aspect of they life. And it was beautifully done showing us the struggles that Grayson is going through with his parents divorce. I also liked how Ava was a little pushy and confident about how she felt for him and not letting the concern of her brother or anyone else deter her from what she wants. The story came together beautifully and can't wait to see what the rest of the Nash gang has in store for us.
Dating the Defensive Back is a fun, fake dating football romance. Grayson and Ava meet up at a local sports bar and hit it off, only hitch is she is his best friends younger sister and he doesn’t remember who she is since they haven’t seen each other in awhile. Their one night turns into a fake relationship to her ex from trying to win her back stop her brother from finding out about them. These two have quite the rollercoaster of a ride between fighting their feelings for each other, omission of truth and trust issues. I loved watching their up and down journey to find their happy ending.
The audiobook is narrated by Kelsey Navarro Foster and Tor Thom. Kelsey was great at bringing out the sweet but strong personality of Ava while Tor was great at bringing across Grayson’s grumpy and protective personality. Both narrators gave good performances bringing these characters to life.

My reading notes:
- 8%: “Cookie”? 🤨
- 9%: “purity” 🤮
- 10%: after 5 years? When you started dating at 20? I don’t believe you 🙃
- 16%: uhhh yeah pretty sure I wrote that same scene when I was 15. This is not the book for me
