Get me far far away from these wild places!!! I started this on audiobook and I listened to it for 3 hours and could not focus or feel like I was getting into the story.

I did not think I would like this book as much as I did. It’s a captivating mystery book that is a true page turner. At first, I did not understand why we left Travis and Maggie behind so quickly to focus on Calla, Theo, and Bee, but the more you read the more quickly puzzle pieces come together. Would read again.

This story had me completely hooked! There was a part in the last third of the book that got a bit weird and I wasn’t expecting it to turn out like that, but the ending ties it up well.

This felt like a slow burn, but I think that’s because the unraveling of the mystery was so paced and intentional. The varying points of view lended to a distrust of the main characters while we sorted through the evidence. It was an interesting viewpoint for the reader, too, because it felt like the characters were confessing or otherwise entrusting their experiences to the reader. Hard to explain, but I appreciated that element. It was unexpected.

I started reading this book thinking it was a totally different story. The beginning hooked me and then I couldn’t put it down. I finished it in 1 day because I had to find out what in the world was going on.
It has some unexpected twists and I wasn’t even sure with all my guessing what might be truth or lies. It was a very unique book and well worth a Sunday afternoon of reading.
