Oh my god. At first I didn't enjoy this run, but then I fell in love with it. I highly, HIGHLY recommend giving it a read if you either love anything mutant related or want something that has several twists.

My first comic book. It was confusing at times and difficult to get into, but really fun. I'd like to keep reading outside of my comfort zone.
The House of M is a great run, but I felt like I needed to go back and get the original story in order to fully understand this one. The last 20+ pages of extras were nice, but kind of bothered me in that they weren't instead incorporated into the comic.
I read this because I've been enjoying the WandaVision tv show and I wanted to see what influence this book has/will have on it. I'm guessing not too much?
Was fun overall with a few big moments, but didn't feel like a must read or anything to me. Does make me want to get back into super hero comics though.

I've been hearing about the infamous House of M since I started getting into superhero comics a couple of years ago. Despite my high expectations, House of M still managed to surprise me--both in its emotionally wrought moments, and in its altering of the Marvel world. HoM is not merely a compelling story (and it is that), it is also a wonderfully crafted comic, both in relation to plot and to character development. I have little knowledge of the X-Men, so I know this is a strange starting point, but I certainly intend to pursue them more.
No. More. Mutants.
It’s a line I knew was coming, but still shuddered when I read it. This proves just how powerful Wanda is. What a great and heartbreaking read. I need more!

House of M collects issues #1-8 of The House of M (2005) and The Secrets of the House of M which sees Wanda deal with the aftermath of her losing control of her powers and causing the deaths of some Avengers. As with Civil War this book combines the casts of the X-Men and the Avengers, which makes sense given that Wanda and Pietro have ties to both groups. However, it can be confusing if you're not familiar with this extended cast. Unlike Civil War it doesn't matter as much that you don't know who the characters are, but you should prepare yourself for that. In a similar vein, the plot of this book is playing with its reader so that there will be points where you're just as confused as Wolverine, who takes a main role in the book. This confusion is completely intentional in order to set up this fantastic story of desire, grief, and trying to do what's best for the ones that you love. There is an incredible amount of work that has cone into tellings such a complex story in a relatively small amount of issues, and it is easy to see why this is such a seminal book in the Marvel canon. I don't want to say much more because the concept of this book is so well written that you deserve to experince it for yourself, but I will say that if you're busy watching WandaVision at the moment then this is the book you should pick up next.
