I’m not very familiar with the X-men or the New Avengers, but one of my students really wanted me to read this. So much so that he lent me his copy. I had to read it because if this is what got him excited about reading and he wanted to share it with me, then I’m sure as hell going to read it.
I gave this 3 stars despite my confusion with the characters (lack of knowledge on my part). I did find this to be quite engaging and surprisingly entertaining.

A really great look into the effects of mental illness even on the best of us. I wish I saw what happened as a result of Wanda’s second choice but I was thoroughly entertained!
Basically, Scarlet witch is going a little crazy, and people don't know what to do. When faced with the tough decision, the start to approach her, but are thrown into a theoretical universe.
90% of this story takes places in this fake universe. While an interesting concept, the whole thing could have been much, MUCH shorter and achieved the same thing. Instead, we are led thru several filler parts, that while moderately entertaining weren't very relevant.
The best part of this story is that it leads into one of my favorite X-men storylines, Messiah Complex, which is the main reason I gave this a try.

Scarlet has always been one of my faves though i have noticed that with marvel, the more powerful the female, the more of ab emotional rollercoaster they are..
Scarlet witch, rogue, phoenix..
Case in point.

"No more mutants." This is the infamous storyline that deals with the fallout of Avengers: Disassembled, defines the current rendition of Wanda, and changes the relationship the universe has with the X-Men. It's an iconic storyline that also inspired the Wandavision story. Brian Michael Bendis writing brings a unique storytelling experience to crossover events - not as balls to the walls amazing as his later work, but still an iconic chapter in the Marvel Universe.
