That was fantastic!! I don't know why I never read this one before! I knew the name, I knew about it, just never had my hands on... Now I'm glad I finally did. The art was awesome and such a great story with an impressive cast of super-heroes! This is my kind of comic!

So I read this after, like many, being entranced by Wandavision and wanting to read some of the comics it was based on. Frankly, I was disappointed. While I enjoyed the main cast and it was easy to hop on and read as someone not well versed in Marvel comics, and the alternate world the heroes find themselves in is interesting, I really don't like how they handled Wanda. They made her trauma the center of the story, without giving you anymore than a superficial glance into it. Maybe if I had read the comics these follow up on, I wouldn't have had that problem, but as it was I did not find it a satisfying read.
Though like I said, I really did enjoy the cast. Wolverine and Emma Frost were stand outs for me, coming from someone whose never consumed any X Men media, but always been curious about those two. The art was also very well done and there were some stunning stand out moments.
From my perspective, if you're already interested in this book and want some background info on Wandavision, I'd say pick it up. But it's not a hearty recommendation from me, and I wouldn't recommend if you want a similar experience to Wandavision.

House of M is one of the comics that is informing #WandaVision so obviously I had to read it. I was truly shaken by the end of this series. Like it's so good, but WHEW! It took my breath away, not unlike the end of Infinity War. I have very mixed feelings around the way that Wanda's mental health is being treated in this situation (actually I don't they are not doing right by her AT ALL) and it brings up so many issues in mental health care even though it's fictional. I just....this comic is really good and I strongly recommend it, but it makes you think alot :)

Decided to reread House of M after watching WandaVision. It did not disappoint. It's well known as one of the turning points in the x-men universe and worth reading for that reason as well as being immersive and compelling.
Ok so I said I was gonna read something shorter and lighter after Conjuring of Light. And I figured "Hey, what's shorter and lighter than a good volume of comics?
So I went to Hoopla, as one does, and saw that I had already rented a comic at some point within the last few days. And that comic was House of M. Which, while shorter, was definitely not lighter. But still, 1/2 isn't bad. But yeah, as soon as I saw that was in my rentals I just sighed and said "Yeah, ok" and got to reading it.
It's a good, interesting story. But definitely a dark one. Dealing with essentially insanity, and losing one's grip on reality. As well as the idea of creating a world where everybody (well, mostly everybody) has what they want. And how that doesn't really work out as well as you'd imagine it.
Of special note was Spider-Man, who suddenly had everybody he had lost back in his life again. Only to be reminded, forcibly, that this life was a lie, and really he had suffered through those deaths. And the existential crisis that he had through that, which only continued once the world was reset back to normal (sans the majority of mutantkind).
Another page that I enjoyed was Magneto learning that Quiksilver had essentially manipulated Scarlet Witch into remaking the world into "Paradise". I could empathize, I suppose, with his anger at Pietro's use of Wanda and Magneto. Though it was dampened somewhat when I was reminded that Magneto, to some extent, caused for it to work out that way with how he prioritized his cause over his own children.
An intense read. But an enjoyable one.
Next I think I'll try to find a comic that is, in fact, lighter in tone.

Was recommended this after asking “What would the bad guys do if they actually won?” Well here’s one outcome. It’s a bit messy as it has a brief intro to what’s happened in the past, but it would help if you read the previous series I suppose. I didn’t 😐
