Basically, Scarlet witch is going a little crazy, and people don't know what to do. When faced with the tough decision, the start to approach her, but are thrown into a theoretical universe.

90% of this story takes places in this fake universe. While an interesting concept, the whole thing could have been much, MUCH shorter and achieved the same thing. Instead, we are led thru several filler parts, that while moderately entertaining weren't very relevant.

The best part of this story is that it leads into one of my favorite X-men storylines, Messiah Complex, which is the main reason I gave this a try.

Interesting first part of a story. It just kind of ends though...

Rereading this now that I have a much, much better understanding of the Marvel universe was a good idea, but my rating still doesn't change. The idea of the House of M is interesting - I like alternate universes! I'm really unhappy with what happened to Wanda, though, and the conclusion and the results of the whole "No more mutants" thing were mixed, to say the least. This book is a quick and good read - what I liked best were the moments between Wanda, Pietro and Magneto. Olivier Coipel's art wasn't as good as during his Thor run, I felt, but I still liked it.

A cool read that clearly points in some direction as to where a corner of the MCU is heading.

This was unexpectedly horrifying because of the psychological aspects of the story and because of the ethical-moral issues the Avengers and X-Men found themselves grappling with.

Excellent...but what next?

Came to this prompted by Wandavision. Seems to have followed on from the Whedon Astonishing X-Men judging by the design and art.

Excellent premise and gripping story. But...the end isn’t entirely a
Satisfying so I need to hit Wikipedia and find out what happens next.

Also, it’s not what is going to be happening in Wandavision but may be an inspiration.

Alternate universes done right are So. Much. Fun. And this was. All the extra universe details and deep exploration of what it means to live in this world are exactly what makes this storyline so good. Depth, my friends, depth is what makes an AU worthwhile.
