If you are all about goal setting (whether personally or professionally, this book has good information to be gleaned. It’s also a quick read (or listen, if audio is your thing). That said, I was not in love with this author. His language is rough (lots of swear words) and although I admit that added to the grit of his gritty autobiography, it was a turn off for me. A companion in my book club that had this title as a selection stated that Goggins is one of the least prepared SEALs. Arguably, you kind of want an elite military man to have a certain amount of “all in, we’ll figure it out” attitude, but bluster doesn’t always achieve results.
If you’re looking for something to read that will generate conversation, this is definitely a good choice.

Yup, it is no wonder why this book is highly recommended. Very inspirational and hey! David Goggins has been to my hometown! Grand Junction, CO! Without a doubt I will read this book again in the future if not a few times. Anytime I need a boost I know I can reach for Can't Hurt Me. Talk about achieving the American Dream (even though he does not want to be labeled). To me the theme of this book is pursue your dreams. If your mind is set on a dream, do the work, and reach that dream, no excuses. After reading this book I think "Could I push myself a little more today? Could I get more done? Could I make better use of my time?". At the end David does come face-to-face with a self-care balance dilemma. It is not just about hustling every day; you must take care of yourself too if you plan to stick around.
I have developed a respect for books created by people with a military background. Their approach to life sometimes seems more driven, and more self-disciplined. Yeah, good book. Everyone should read it.

What if…
This was a very motivational book to read. David Goggins is a bad man! I’m highly inspired and ready to take on whatever obstacles coming my way.

Ultra-ultra-motivating if the "push through anything by sheer determination" mindset appeals to you.

Having a tough mind set. He pushes himself past where a sane person would. Yet he is divorced 3x (twice from same woman). Marriage is hard too.

Great Reminders
Before I get to my review, I want to say how much I loved the concept of this audiobook. This hybrid of a podcast/audiobook made for a more enjoyable listen and made the material that more impactful. Adam and David went beyond and more. I truly got so much out of this book then I would if I was just reading it.
Now for my review. This book is filled with great reminders. Reminders that we can do more if we are willing to. It took me awhile to get through this audiobook. I took the material and the advice to heart. I immersed myself in the challenges and at the end of it all made a new goal for myself. Found ways to push myself to achieve that goal. I know this won’t be an overnight thing but I am willing to go on this journey. David Goggins’s story is a tough one to hear at times but what you will get out of it far exceeds the discomfort.

Definitely recommend the audio version with David’s commentary
