Love this novella. It gives you just that littl sneak peak that is needed in between books. The last Rose book ended after such a crazy event it's nice to get a little more information.
The time has come.... the sad ending of the Rose Gardner Mystery series. I absolutely loved and enjoyed this series and am sad that it's ending. I'm also super thankful that Denise decided to continue Rose's story (and her friends) and can't wait to start the Rose Gardner Investigations and Neely Kate series!!
As for Sins of the Father....while I always love to hear the other character's points of view, this book I could've done without. Denise could have ended the series with Thirty-Six and a Half Motives and I would have been okay (emotionally not so much, but still). I know that Denise was just trying to sum up what everyone was feeling a few months later, but I didn't feel it really brought any value to the rest of the series.

Like all the between the numbers novels for this series, this one ties up loose ends and answers many questions. It is told from multiple character's points of view and is a very good read. You find out events that have occurred since Thirty-Six and a Half Motives ended. Characters are putting their lives back together after the fall out, and some of it isn't pretty. This book does set the reader up for the next series Rose Gardner Investigations which begins with Family Jewels and is due out November 2017--I can't wait. Overall, another great book by Swank. I look forward to reading her new series.
