I thought this was going to be a lot gayer than it was.

I was intrigued by the concept but the execution was lacking. The writing style was not for me and I honestly just didn't care about the characters. There were a lot of moments that felt like they were supposed to be really emotionally impactful that fell very short because there wasn't enough connection with the characters or enough buildup. Overall I felt very underwhelmed and was very close to DNFing for most of it. I really wanted to like it, but... Couldn't.

Loved it. I swallowed every word in less than twenty four hours. I don’t know if I missed that Fi was straight because I thought her ex was a girl but when they said “he” and introduced Aramond, I was slightly confused. I got over it quickly.

Really enjoyed the start of these series. A Gender bent sleeping beauty retelling??

Magic and curses and quests and fights? Yes please!

It was cute! It took a minute to get into it and then it wrapped up really fast at the end! But I enjoyed the twists and turns even though there was more action than romance. I think if you like low smut queer action books, you’ll really like this one!

This has been sitting on my TBR for way longer than Ill admit and i'm happy I finally picked it up! I was kind of just waiting for the entire series to be out before I did so I could read it in one go lol. I loved how this took so many fairytales and weaved them together in a way that worked really well. You have sleeping beauty, Indiana jones, a little red riding hood, a little rapunzel, and probably more that I didn't even pick up on. It made for a really fast paced and super fun story that kept me turning the pages quick.

Shane and Fi were awesome main characters, I loved their partnership that slowly turned into a friendship without either of them ever even noticing. They went from "I begrudgingly like you for the sake of the partnership" to "Im gonna throw myself into danger for you and not think twice about it" and It was really sweet to see. We NEED more platonic friendships in books that prove to be just as important as romantic relationships. But even on their own they both shined in their own ways too. Fi is really whip quick smart and was our "puzzle/history master" of the book. But she also wasn't afraid to defend herself either, she could absolutely stand on her own. Shane was a complete badass and truly it is her and her axe against the world! She's the muscle of the operation and has the humor to back it up too.

I unexpectedly loved Briar Rose, I wasn't expecting to see much of him since this books plot was to wake the prince, but to my surprise he was given his own POV and he showed up as a "ghost" type figure so I actually grew to love him. He was such a sweetheart and took the time to understand Fi and respect her boundaries. Red was so cool, the second she showed up I knew I was gonna be obsessed. I saw the twist coming with her but even after that I was like I don't even care Im still obsessed??

I recommend this if your looking for a quick paced, action packed, hilarious fantasy with ride or die friendships!
