[Meh]

Sadly this was a flop for me. I enjoyed this author’s previous books and while this book was cute, it was also kind of boring. Luckily the narration of the audiobook was well done and kept me going but overall, this book was just not for me.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a free advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a good book!

I loved Rosie’s arch and character development. Seeing her go after her dreams was inspiring, even if they looked a little different than she thought.

I loved the cast of characters—the retirement home tie-in was so fun!

Booker is such a dream: I really enjoyed how patient and thoughtful he was, especially with Rosie.

I loved the Cinderella aspect and all the high jinxes that ensued.

I really did not like this narrator. I probably would’ve dnf’d had I not liked the plot so much. I found her inflection to be irritating and she never seemed to end a sentence with a period.

Overall, a funny fun read!

As usual I can count on Walsh to provide a fun, light-hearted, hopeful romance with interesting, albeit flawed, characters.  Rosie discovers (finally) more about her true self and desires in this tale set against the backdrop of a theater job with some unexpected helpers and participants.  I like that I know what to expect with a Walsh book...clean with a happy ending.
The narration for this book was well-done and easy to follow as well.  Recommended for anyone looking for a happy, but not dumbed-down read.
Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC.  All opinions are mine.

Loved it! It’s rare that a book makes me genuinely tear up but this one did it.

Thank you Net Galley and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ALC copy for review.

Irresistibly cute and full of heart.

Rosie can't get an acting job in New York to pay her sky-high rent and is ready to slink home and admit defeat when she gets an offer to work on a production of Cinderella off off, way off Broadway. She eagerly accepts this high paying, board included offer, heading to Wisconsin to find she is IT! The entire production staff consists of one, just Rosie, and her pool of actors are all seniors with no experience.

Rosie was greeted by handsome Booker, welcomed by matchmaking Connie, and treated to a literary smack down with old timer Arthur. I love a story with quirky old people, and there is no shortage here, in addition to Arthur there are a multitude of fun residents.

After her initial surprise, Rosie is determined to do the best job she can, and her attraction to Booker might be the silver lining of this job. The Author's Note is personal and worth reading!

If you love sweet (clean romance), fun side characters, found family, and finding yourself, give it a try!

The narration was perfect for the character and very enjoyable.

Thank you to TLC Book Tours, Thomas Nelson, and the author for this lovely book mail and to LibroFM for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own.

Everything's Coming Up Rosie features a young woman whose Broadway dreams have stalled. In an attempt to get work in theater anywhere, she ends up directing a musical at a retirement home.

This book was incredibly heartwarming. I absolutely adore the characters. And the setting was so amazing that it made me start doing the math on retirement.

Most of all, I was incredibly thrilled to read about musicals and theater. I have long been a theater nerd (though more of a behind the scenes one). And the love of musicals showed through here. I really appreciated the author's note about the theater as well.

I loved everything about this story. It has everything that makes a story true; heart, hardship, sadness, joy, and humor. I laughed and cried, I even underlined passages to reread once I was done! This is one I will return to again and again. I absolutely loved it!

I really thought I was going to love this, but right from the beginning, I knew it wasn't going to be that easy. While I enjoy the writing style, having read other books by Courtney Walsh before, my biggest problem was my overall lack of interest in the story. It took me 6 days to hit 26%, a feat that I can usually accomplish in just two hours of reading before bed. I could’ve read this book in one day if I felt motivated enough, but that didn’t happen with this one.
Honestly, I think that this was a me problem. I decided to DNF this, because when I don’t have enough interest in a book, I start to pick apart every minor detail and that’s not what I want in my life as a reader and reviewer.
P.S.: I did find it a bit weird that Rosie, as an adult, accepted a job and spent days without doing any research about it.
