I was so excited to hear Courtney Walsh’s new book Everything’s Coming Up Rosie. I have been a fan of a lot of Courtney Walsh’s books in the past and this passes the test as well. Her characters, their development, plot lines, and the witty banner that you could find between the characters is great. This one reminded me of summer camp. It reminded me of being in a community of people who are kind and who want the best for each other.
In this story, Rosie is a struggling actress and she has given up or is thinking about giving up her dream of making it big. She takes a new job, but she doesn’t realize that it’s in a retirement community directing their summer production of Cinderella. The characters are next level of course, and there’s a love interest that peaks your interest right away. The journey of Rosie, figuring out who she is, who to trust, how to be herself and what her dreams really are warms the heart.
Thank you, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction, and Net Galley for an early audio arc in exchange for an honest review.

This book is a warm hug on a cold night. Super sweet and I loved how the story was more about the FMC’s growth than the romance. The romance was sweet but I loved Rosie’s story arc. Narrator was top notch.

My heart is full for Rosie. For Rosie and her quest to find herself and her purpose. For Rosie to realize that there is someone that loves and understands her, and for her accept that from Booker. For Rosie and her new adventure in an idyllic town in my home state—I found myself relating so so many charming small town references. There’s a little bit of room left in my heart, too, for the facts I learned about theater production and everything that goes on behind the scenes. This entire closed-door romance was enduring and sweet, with many great messages of finding yourself.
I had the pleasure to experience this book via a tandem read. The narrator Jorjeana Marie, did a fantastic job. She captured the essence of Rosie and helped me feel like she was an in-real-life friend.
Many thanks to the author and publisher, Thomas Nelson for the eARC and Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio for the ALC.

Thank you to Netgalley, Thomas Nelson, and Courtney Walsh for the eARC of this book!
I always enjoy Courtney Walsh’s books. Her books are always so easy and light. When I need an escape from life's heaviness, I often turn to one of her books. This book was no different. I related to Rosie in many ways, including her struggle to be vulnerable with those who cared about her. I felt like I went on this journey with her and learned a lot.
I struggled with Rosie a bit at the beginning because she was essentially deceiving everyone the whole time. I understood, but I struggle with this in characters sometimes. However, the way the author conveyed the lessons in the story was beautiful as well. There were some pacing issues, as we often got Rosie’s thoughts in the middle of a conversation, which sometimes took me out of the story. However, I still loved all the characters and the story!
The story featured a dynamic cast of characters. Booker and Rosie’s banter had me cracking up a lot of the time! Bertie was the sassy, wise older woman that I love in books. Her matchmaking schemes and quips made this book so funny. Taylor, Marnie, and Maya were such great friends, and I enjoyed the way Rosie was able to goof around with them and show her silly side, and eventually opened up to them. A good solid group of girlfriends is one of my favorites, and this group provided this. There are so many other side characters that I fell in love with: Arthur, a wise, grumpy old man; Belinda, a stubborn older woman; Connie, a ditzy, quirky, lovable woman; and so many more.
I recommend this book if you're looking for a romantic comedy with humor, heart, and a lot of funny side characters.
I received this eARC from Netgalley and Thomas Nelson, but this honest review is voluntary.

Thank you to NetGalley, Courtney Walsh and Thomas Nelson and Zonderman Fiction Audio for a copy of this ALC in exchange for my honest thoughts.
This felt like such a love letter to theatre. I never pursued theatre beyond middles school but it was such a formative part of my growing up and I still hold it dear so I definitely resonated with this story. This journey of self discovery was so amazing and definitely fit the vibes of a 20 something that was lost and had to change course. This was such a great reminder that it's okay to not know what you want out of life and it's never too late to chase your dreams. I loved the fact that there was a romance but it was almost second to the overall journey Rosie undergoes. I really appreciated that part of it. However, Booker was very swoony and I LOVED his character. He was steadily helping Rosie get out of her shell and was never too pushy when he was trying.
Walsh does such an amazing job of creating such engaging and funny side characters. This is only the second book by Walsh that i've read and I look forward to reading many more by her. I had a BLAST with this one.
Narration: Georgina Marie did such a great job encompassing Rosie's character and giving her emotion where it was needed. She truly brought the characters to life.

Sweet and Swoony
🌷This was such a sweet story! I loved how chaotic and quirky Rosie is but not in an over-the-top silly way but just in her genuine theater-loving way. She has a heart of gold and a thought process that will make you laugh for sure!
🌷The overall story feels natural, and realistic and every character leaves you with a lesson or pondering about something.
🌷As for Rosie and Booker, I absolutely loved their story, it is full of actual connection, courtship, and love. Booker is a man that bares it all out, while Rosie is more of an onion you have to peel back slowwwwwly but Booker is the perfect man for the job.
