๐Ÿ“– Bookish Moments:
This was the most wholesome book ever! I was not expecting to love it this much! Rosie, our FMC, is definitely going through itโ€”questioning her life, career, goals, and basically everything except that she needs a job and a place to live ASAP. Sheโ€™s self-critical and totally convinced that all her friends have it figured out. (Rosie, bestieโ€ฆ weโ€™re all just winging it out here!)

Her new role directing Cinderella at a senior living communityโ€™s theater was unexpectedly adorable, and I loved every quirky, lovable character we met along the way. The romance with Booker? Cutie alert! I was very happy with how it all wrapped upโ€”though the author had me sweating for a second.

I canโ€™t believe I was ever hesitant to read this book because it turned out to be one of my absolute favorite stories! Everything, from the characters to the plot, was absolutely spot-on! Iโ€™m so glad I overlooked my initial hesitations and tried out this book, because otherwise I would have missed out on one amazing story. Donโ€™t be like meโ€”go read this book as soon as itโ€™s available!

Rosieโ€™s sense of humor had me laughing out loud more than once ๐Ÿคญ She was inherently awkward and, yet, so much funโ€”Rosie definitely had a knack for getting into the most comical of situations. Iโ€™d definitely want to be her friend in real life if she existed outside of her book! Oh, and I canโ€™t forget her friendsโ€”Iโ€™d love to be a part of their friend group too!

Mmm, Booker was an absolute dreamboat and the perfect counterpart to Rosie! I love the way he went along with her wackiness during their first meetingโ€”he was such a sweetheart. Booker was so good for Rosie in numerous waysโ€”especially in helping her figure out her life. I enjoyed all of their many conversations and amusing incidents (the golf cart and mud debacle, the chipmunk in the house, date setup by Bertie, etc.).

Every single character in this book worked to make this such an amazing book! I didnโ€™t dislike a single one of them, as they were all so highly entertaining and lovableโ€”even when they tried to be grouchy. The elderly residents at Sunset Hills were definitely some of my favorites (Arthur, Iโ€™m looking at you) ๐Ÿ˜† Watching them audition for the show was absolutely hilarious! I love that the other young people at Sunset Hills quickly befriended Rosie and welcomed her into their circleโ€”they were exactly what she needed, and she was exactly what they needed โ™ฅ๏ธ

Okay, this narrator was PHENOMENAL!! There was something about her voice that truly brought this book to life. The southern accents (Connie and Daisy) were spot-on and highly entertaining to listen to. I highly recommend everyone listen to this audiobook!

Everythingโ€™s Coming Up Rosie

I feel like Courtney Walsh snuck up on me, and here I am accidentally reading my 9th book by her!

Rosie is a little lost with her acting career when she ends up accidentally becoming the creative director of a theater company inside a retirement community. Full of all of the mishaps you might imagine, and a few extras, this definitely got some laughs!

If you like a cute and quirky main character, or were a theater kid growing up, this is your book! Itโ€™s focused more on the character building and found family relationships than the closed door romance, but sometimes thatโ€™s just what you need!

Thanks to @betgalley for this arc!

5 stars

The audiobook was narrated by Jorjeana Marie incredibly. Because of the distinct different voices, I thought it was a cast performance. I highly recommend the audiobook!

This one is hard for me to review. I struggled with the story in the beginning mainly because Rosie felt like a younger character rather than her being in her late 20s. I also wasnโ€™t a fan of her behavior when to found out she was going to be working with senior citizens. I was pleased with character development over time. I loved the depth we got to see from Roseโ€™s character. I do wish it was shown to us sooner. She started to appreciate the people she was working with and let them inspire her and vice versa. I loved the characters in this senior community. They were the best part of the story for me. Even though the romance was in the background it was good. They fit well together. I would read another book about these characters.

Sometimes life takes you exactly where you need to be in the most unexpected of ways. After struggling to break through for years as an actor in New York, Rosie Waterman finds herself taking a job as director of a regional theatre production in Door County, Wisconsin. At least sheโ€™ll still be working on the stage.

The thing is, though, that Rosie didnโ€™t exactly read the job description very thoroughly when she applied.

And itโ€™s not exactly the type of regional theatre she is expecting.

Rosie has signed on to direct seniors in a retirement community production of Cinderella, and both they and she are in for an adjustment.

Rosie, bless her heart, is a bit clueless in many ways. Although sheโ€™s in her late 20s, this is still a coming of age novel of sorts. There is a bit of a summer romanceโ€”that we, as readers, of course, are hoping will extend past the final days of summerโ€”but much of the focus is on Rosie, herself, opening up, gaining confidence, and finding the fun in life again and how, in the process, she impacts the lives of those around her.

Arthur, a particular, occasionally curmudgeonly, but highly insightful resident and theatre devotee was my absolute favorite part of the book.

Jorjeana Marie captures Rosieโ€™s youthfulness so well in the audiobook version, but I didnโ€™t love her voices for the male characters.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Fiction Audio and read a traveling ARC of the book. All review opinions are my own.

This was such a fun read, full of humor and heart! Courtney Walsh has such a talent for pulling you right into the world of the main character. When Rosie lost her job and her apartment I felt just as upset as she did, and easily understood how she could take a job so far removed from her โ€œoriginalโ€ dream jobs. Of course, when Rosie finds out what her new job really isโ€ฆlots of laughs as the story unfolds!

Rosieโ€™s story is a story about finding her place in the world, and a story about unearthing your dreams in places you may have never expected to find them. Of course itโ€™s a love story too (Booker is just as supportive and charming as he is funny), but at its core itโ€™s a story of friendship, and how your friends will support you if you only just ask.

I definitely recommend this book, especially if you love a romance book with a lot of character development and humor!

Courtney Walsh did it again. She manages to write a book that just is cozy and sweet and enjoyable! The two words I would use to describe this are uplifting and heartwarming. Rosie's personal growth and acceptance of herself were so sweet to watch as the story developed. I found myself growing to love the characters more and more as they story developed and not wanting it to end!  If you like books & musicals/plays/theater this book is PERFECT for you!

I love Courtney Walsh's books because they are books I feel comfortable recommending to anyone including my mom! :)

Setting: Door County, WI

Everythingโ€™s Coming Up Rosie has Courtney Walshโ€™s classic touch of charm, humor, and closed door romance. The pace was also slowly moving at first, and I wish there was a little more emotional depth in the romantic relationship, and a lot more steam!
Readers will still find this a fun, cozy read and feeling warm inside. It was such a unique storyline with the retirement community setting and the theme of theater was a lot of fun. I related to Rosieโ€™s character development that had me reflecting on my own personal hardships and life goals.
