Everything’s Coming Up Rosie is so much more than just a sweet, humorous contemporary romance. Yes, it is that because I totally laughed out loud, sighed over the sweetness (oh my goodness, especially Booker), and adored all the quirky characters. But there’s also so much beautiful self-discovery in these pages as Rosie not only grows, but transforms. If you like stories where the main character goes through tremendous self-discovery, really grows up, discovers what’s important- well, this is the story you’ve been waiting for! And not just Rosie- this story brings the best out in everyone as they deal with the hard stuff and embrace life. I loved it.

Rosie Waterman has always had one dream: being an actor. After a decade in New York with limited success in acting, she loses her temp job and her apartment in one day. A trip home makes her realize that her friends are reaching their goals and dreams, and Rosie is desperate for any evidence of success. When she is offered a chance to be on the creative team for a show at a regional theater in Door County, Wisconsin, she jumps at the chance despite having limited experience directing. In her haste, she didn’t realize that she is the entire creative team/director of the show; the theater is at a retirement community; and her cast is made up of residents who live there. Rosie and the retirement community need each other, so she steps up and takes charge of the production on Cinderella she has been hired to direct. As Rosie gets to know the people living and working at the retirement home, she begins to rethink her dream. Maybe it could take more than one shape?
It took me a little while to warm up to Rosie, but I loved everyone at the retirement community. This is a women’s fiction story with a (clean) romance subplot. The story was so heartwarming, and Jorjeana Marie did an excellent job with the narration of the audiobook. I would love to see a sequel featuring Dylan and her reunion with her mother in Chicago.
Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an audio ARC of this book.

Courtney Walsh always delivers on all the feels, and she hit me hard in every way.
The fear, the disappointment, the disillusionment of going for it and falling short.
The searching, seeking, the sensation of feeling awkward in your own skin.
The holding back, the pretending, the wall that goes up so no one really sees.
And then the joy and happiness and relief of finally feeling safe enough to be real, and the realization that not only are you enough, but you’re surrounded by people who are more like you than you ever thought possible.
All of this and more waits for you in these pages. Please be good to yourself and read this book!
And may I say that I love the name Booker for our hero!💖

The small-town setting gave the story a comfortable, lived-in feeling. The female lead’s fresh start felt honest and quietly complicated, not like a quick reset but a real chance to find herself again.
The friends-to-lovers angle unfolded slowly and naturally. Their history added layers, and being thrown together in close quarters made the feelings they’d buried impossible to ignore. The tension between them was steady, with moments that were awkward, tender, and sometimes unexpectedly funny.
The story balanced lighthearted scenes with quieter, more serious ones without losing its warmth. The characters aren’t perfect — they’re messy, stubborn, and real, working through what they want and need without shortcuts. This isn’t a rush to happily ever after but a careful, believable journey toward something new.
