I found this comic painfully boring to read. The drawing style is fine most of the time. However, the idea of the Resurrection Man sounds better than the actual comic itself.

The main character of this comic is really interesting, most interesting I've seen in a while. And the story was good, in the beginning at least. I'm not sure what happened but at the end I got a bit bored and I hate how the women are represented in these comics.

This was a strange one.
Resurrection Man does what it says on the tin - he dies, he resurrects. He's got people looking for him. There's an issue with his soul. He's not so sure of himself, he only knows what power he has when he wakes up. And so on.
A little confusing? That's this arc in a nutshell. Confusing, I'm not convinced very necessary, and, truly I don't know if I actually get it. I might try the next trade if I can find it, but this is the first of the New 52 I could honestly say puzzled me.

Ik dacht: “Ik zou wel eens beginnen lezen aan de nieuwe Resurrection Man, nu hij toch opnieuw gecanceled is”. Maar toen dacht ik: “Zou ik niet eerst eens de oorspronkelijke Resurrection Man lezen, wegens alsdat ik daar namelijk goede dingen over gehoord had?”
Een man wordt wakker nadat hij neergeschoten is. Hij had dood moeten zijn, en blijkt: hij was ook dood. Hij weet in eerste instantie niet wie hij is, maar beetje bij beetje puzzelt hij zijn verleden bij elkaar: hij was Mitch Shelley, een advokaat voor Schlechte Mensen, en hij was een tijd geleden ook al eens vermoord.
En dan wordt hij weer gedood, en opnieuw, en opnieuw. En telkens wordt hij weer wakker, binnen seconden of minuten, met een nieuwe kracht, gerelateerd aan de manier waarop hij dood ging. Valt hij uit een vliegtuig, kan hij plots vliegen, dat soort dingen.
Zo ongeveer de helft van de nummers van de eerste reeks gaat over Shelley’s zoektocht, en hoe hij te weten komt wie hem waarom gedood heeft, en hoe hij aan zijn mysterieuze gave geraakt is.
En dan gaat het een stapje verder en is hij eventjes een Echte Superheld, in de JLA dan nog wel, tot hij dat voor bekeken houdt wegens toch niet echt zijn ding. En dan gaat het over origin stories en is hij of is hij niet Immortal Man, en moet ik toegeven dat mijn aandacht bij momenten verslapte.
Maar die eerste boeken vond ik dus wel heel degelijk. En verfrissend, een superheld die gewoon dood gaat — zelfs al wordt hij bijna meteen weer levend.

I don't know what this series was before the new 52, but it is a very original one at that. Every time this guy dies he comes back with a situational power to help him out. Some of the dialog in a flashback scene was kinda lame, but it was just that scene. Great starter book.
