This one is more tense and sad than the first, and definitely has some problematic moments from a modern perspective (see content warnings for more info but be warned of spoilers). It's very clear it's an old book!

I finished reading the second book in the Poldark series. Gave it 📚📚📚📚📚. I’m not going to say five things about each book in the series but I’ll rate each one as I finish them and do a five things finale when I’ve read the final currently published book in the series
3.5 out of 5 stars. I found this novel a bit slower than the first one, with all the details about the mining operations. I still found Graham's descriptions of the landscapes amazing, and I generally enjoyed the novel. The ending is heartbreaking though, even though I knew beforehand about the character death.
