I have never cried so much in a book with a happy ending. I loved this book, the characters, the ending. It was all perfect. I was expecting a silly little rom com about a woman who can see ghosts and instead I got a very real exploration of grief and loss and what it looks like to put one’s self back together after difficulties.

I really liked the prose in this book and the author did a great job capturing not only what the character was feeling but that unexplainable part of grief that is so hard to dive into. Some of the lines in this book were just fantastic.

I loved both the main characters. They felt complete and full, and I was rooting for them every step of the way. You know you are going to get a HEA but man, the author really makes you earn it.

Loved this book, loved what it made me feel and what it made me think about and how it was some how cute at the same time. Not your average rom com but loved it for that.

10 out of 5*s!! GO READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!!
If you're thinking, what should I read next? Pick this. If you're thinking you should read "insert title here", toss that book to the side & read this instead. This book was so freaking good I hate that I didn't pick it up sooner but am so excited that I finally got the chance to read it. I love love loved this book, the characters, the storyline, the narrators for the audio. My God I felt every freaking feeling in this book. You're going to laugh, and cry, and feel love like you've never felt. I read so much & never feel like books hit me in the emotions, but this did it. I felt them all & now I need to recover from it.

Really surprised by how much I loved this - not usually my genre but I ended up devouring this in a day. The family and funeral home parts were so delightful quirky and heartwarming all at the same time. I was expecting it to go creepy or dark but it didn’t at all. I loved the love story and happy ending. I also really loved the mother character. Would have been a 5 star read for me if not for the two sex scenes and some sexual language throughout - not for me. But overall, very happy I took a chance on this one, it was such a fun way to spend the day.

This was cute! Kind of dragged for me at certain points but it was fluffy and adorable and just what I needed.

One of the best books I’ve ever read- excellent plot twists, charming setting, strong characters, incredible main characters with amazing witty banter, LGBT+ representation (supporting characters), iconic Bestiehood, insightful, inspiring, heartbreaking, and hopeful all at once!

I thought this book was pretty enjoyable

This was definitely a mood/vibe read. AND I've been promising to read this in spring since I bought it ages ago so I finally got to it. This book was really sweet and there were some really great scenes. I annotated TF outta this book and don't regret it whatsoever. I think Florence and Benji are so so cute and he is the perfect man for her. I loved all of the Day's too with all of their fun quirks.

The reason this book isn't getting a higher rating is because I didn't like the 3rd act breakup/conflict. I think that it took wayyyyy too long for them to meet again and wish they would've gotten back together as soon as she got to the hospital.

I picked this book up on a whim at the library, and it was surprising! While the content involves a family run funeral home and a death in the family, it’s actually humorous! The main character is struggling to write a book, and she begins speaking with this ghost who was actually an editor for books. The story journeys through her struggle to write, a family funeral back home, and the eventual plot twist at the end. This was a light read in my opinion and I’d recommend!

"There is no happy ending, there's just... happy living. As best you can. Or whatever. Metaphor-metaphor-simile shit"

A beautifully written story about ghosts, love, grief and hope. This is the second Ashley Poston novel I've read this year and she'll now be an auto-read author for me. I loved this... ardently.
