Ashley Poston is always so creative. This isn’t my favorite of hers (I think I prefer the Seven Year Slip), but this was still so refreshing. I predicted the ending from miles away and I’m glad it came true because if it didn’t I would be upset. Benji is dreamy, I like a good book villain (Lee), the death discussion was illuminating at some points but too much at other points, and some of the way the author painted Florence was a little too cringe. But still cute and I liked how there were some gay characters!

10 out of 5*s!! GO READ THIS BOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!!
If you're thinking, what should I read next? Pick this. If you're thinking you should read "insert title here", toss that book to the side & read this instead. This book was so freaking good I hate that I didn't pick it up sooner but am so excited that I finally got the chance to read it. I love love loved this book, the characters, the storyline, the narrators for the audio. My God I felt every freaking feeling in this book. You're going to laugh, and cry, and feel love like you've never felt. I read so much & never feel like books hit me in the emotions, but this did it. I felt them all & now I need to recover from it.

This book has been on my physical TBR for almost 2 years and I finally read it! You know when you’re waiting to read a book because you just know you’re going to love it and you want to savor it? Yeah, that was me with this book. This was SO GOOD and I’m actually glad that I waited until now to read it, because I don’t know that I would have appreciated it as much 2 years ago. The narration for this audiobook is also *chef’s kiss* so props to the narrator!

This was cute! Kind of dragged for me at certain points but it was fluffy and adorable and just what I needed.

One of the best books I’ve ever read- excellent plot twists, charming setting, strong characters, incredible main characters with amazing witty banter, LGBT+ representation (supporting characters), iconic Bestiehood, insightful, inspiring, heartbreaking, and hopeful all at once!

“I gave a wail and buried my face into my best friend’s shoulder, on the curb of an empty street, while the world spun on, and on, and on, without my dad in it. And the wind did not sing.“

This book took me by complete surprise. I fell in love with the characters. And I wasn’t expecting the paranormal aspect at all, but I ended up enjoying that and what it added to the narrative.

For a story rife with grief, it was also comforting and adorable. The Hero was a dream & their relationship was precious and gutting (at times). Being with the heroine’s family as they came together through hardship was written very well. What a great reading experience. And I adored Poston’s writing! So many of her sentences burrowed into me. From the laugh out loud moments to the ones where I just feel so seen in the ways I’ve personally experienced grief. It’s truly impressive what she’s packed into this little book!

It was definitely predictable but I didn’t care about that. It reminded me of watching a favorite film again. I will absolutely be revisiting this & need to check out others by her.
