Cute little short about Christmas from each of the Spring family siblings (Tori, Charlie, and Oliver). If you’re a fan of Heartstopper then you’ll enjoy this as a nice character study.

I adore the Heartstopper graphic novels and you should totally read it AND watch the series on Netflix because it's precious as fk.

This Winter is the prequel to Oseman's novel Solitaire. I haven't read Solitaire yet, but I will.. eventually.. in like 10 weeks.. (library loan life is rough, y'all!) But I still really enjoyed This Winter. At only 50 something pages, it's quick, it's cute, and it's wholesome. It makes you really feel for Charlie, to have to deal with relatives that judge him based on his sexual orientation and mental health struggles, and Tori, for trying her best to be the sister that Charlie needs. Nick is also in there briefly and my only complaint is that this was MUCH too short because I wanted more Charlie and Nick adorableness. But this was a nice little gobble for Heartstopper fans. ..A snacky snack that makes you want more 😝

On the plus side, I still have lots of season 2 of Heartstopper to watch! And I will patiently wait for Solitaire to free up 🤞🏻

It was good. Just a small little novella between Heartstopper/Solitaire and the illustrations were nice. I don’t have much to say about it so 3.75 feels right

I really enjoyed this book. Even though it was quite a short novella, it was super fast paced and I think it fits well into the whole Solitaire/Heartstopper-verse. I really appreciated having Oliver's POV, I think it's a crime they cut him from the tv show because he's just so cute and his perspective is so important. Overall this was a quick read and I really appreciated how Alice Oseman wrote about Charlies eating disorder with so much sensitivity and care.

I read this book after Heartstopper Volume 5 and Nick & Charlie. It was interesting to hear from the other Spring siblings, and how they feel about their family, Charlie's relationship with Nick and his eating disorder. I feel for Tori and how she tries to help her brother, but is overwhelmed, and how both older siblings try to protect Oliver from the struggles they're experiencing. This was a quick, but satisfying dive into the family's dynamics and how they try to salvage a not-so-great Christmas. I would love to read more about Tori from her perspective!
