Not bad for a novella but it was a bit confusing to put it in the right order with the books.

Now that I'm re-reading the series, I got my husband to buy this for me on his Kindle so I could finally read it! It's a cute little Halloween novella. I have forgotten how the second book starts, but I assume since this was numbered 1.5 this fits with it all. Now off to re-read the second book! Edit: The prologue / first chapter of the second book takes place right after the first book, and the real first chapter 1,5 later (so a year after this novella), so it could be an idea to read this between those, but the first couple of chapters of Flyte also talk about things that have happened earlier.

I really liked this little story. Set between Magyk and Flyte, this takes place during a festival in the Port that compares to our Halloween. Dom Daniel is seeking the help of the Port Coven Witches to clothe his bones and they have an agenda of their own.

This is a short fun read that goes nicely with the rest of the series. Marcia and Septimus are the main characters in this little adventure and they handle this little adventure just fine. The Darke Toad that was introduced is a nice addition and it was fun to see more of the witches.

Overall I really liked this fun little read. And if you enjoy this series you should add this one to it. Its not necessary to the series but it does add a bit of fun.

Super cute, awesome writing, and I absolutely loved the plot and getting to learn more about some of the characters from the book series. Though I do sorta wish that I had at least read Flyte first, as I was sorta confused as to what was going on at first and how/why certain things had turned out the way they had. Other than that though, no complaints whatsoever! <3

This was a fun little romp around the Port during Halloween with Marcia, Septimus, DomDaniel, and Simon. I enjoyed it a lot, from people dressing up for my favorite holiday, mistaking Marcia and DomDaniel as fakes, and the Coven witches were fun characters. Overall, well worth the time to read.

Cute

I'm so glad she wrote these little extras, it was fun to see Septimus as a little kid again in this one.

This little novella got snuck out on me. I had no clue the author was going to release one. This is one of my favorite series out there. It's very fun and inventive. The author does a great job of playing on spelling of words. And it's a smart series. I appreciate this little snack to tide me over until the next book's release. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it went back in time to between the first and second books. I would have loved one where the series stands right now.

I really liked this book, she has kept the characters the same as always, very likable, and the plot was great. I was happy that she redeemed Simon a bit in this book, I'm glad he kind of "saved the day" and has given up being one of the bad guys. In this book Septimus is about to start his Darke week. He wishes to rescue Alther from the Darke Halls, who at the beginning of the book is accidentally Banished by Marcia. But right before embarking on this rescue mission, the characters discover that Merrin has created a Darke Domain in the castle. This book focuses on stopping Merrin and recovering the castle from Darkeness. My favorite part of the book would definitely have to be the dragon and rider versus dragon and rider part at the end. I was very happy to finally get my hands on this book, and I am pleased to say that this book did not disappoint. Another great addition to the Magyk series, I am looking forward to the 7th book in this series.
