Really excellent easy-to-read study of the interaction between celebrity culture and the American Dream. It's a qualitative rather than quantitative study and I would have liked some quantitative data to support the argument but I enjoyed reading this book and found it helpful in identifying broad shifts within representations and ideas of the American dream over the 20th century.
