Queen Breene rocks
I really enjoyed this book. It was great to see the dual mages and Reagan at work again. I absolutely loved having so much of Steve in this book and now I'm hoping for a book with him and Kairi

When will this series end?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this series. I love the old and the new characters. But I was hoping this was it! We get a teaser in this book of what is sure to be knock-down-drag-out-epic-battle ....but we don't get the actual fight which I am really looking forward to at this point!! This book had it all, which made the ending kinda predictable...but in a likeable way? Like you really look forward to people getting what's coming for them...and then they do!

The DDVN world is all starting to come together..
KF Breene continues to amaze me with her awesome world building. The DDVN world just keeps getting better and more and more pieces are fitting into place while still maintain mystery, action and twists you never see coming. Charity and Devon's story was another great adventure filled with action, sadness, twists and turns and love. It was great seeing all the other characters coming together from the other DDVN stories. And I can't wait to see what happens next!

Oof, this one made me cry a little bit. I hate the separation at 80% trope
Not the strongest book in the series.
Things I liked:
Things I liked:
- Steve’s dialogue was hilarious
- Does Roger’s second like Ms. Karen!?!
- Interesting getting to see the magical lands
Things I didn’t like:
- Devon and Charity were boring
- The warrior fae are meh - not remotely likeable
- The plot felt very Swiss cheese like - the best cook in the village? I mean cool but…

Stopped at ch25. Though Charity is/was the main lead, she spends about half the book so far out of action (in some kind of coma coz of magical sickness) and the story is mainly told from the perspective of those around her. I also find the plot a bit slow - it's a journey narrative without much happening.
