A wonderful collection to curl up with during the lazy days of winter break. Each author manages within 20 to 40 pages to weave a delightful story-- there are no weak links in the bunch. Not as substantial and filling as their full-length fare, but each of these makes a lovely "amuse-bouche"-- or "amuse-coeur" as the case may be.

Sweet and fluffy holiday read. I loved some stories and strongly disliked a few. But it was fun and easy, so over all I enjoyed it.

To be honest, this wasn't anything memorable. It took me a while to get through, but I made it. I enjoyed a few of the stories, loved one, and the rest were pretty meh or bad. They weren't very romantic or cute IMO. I'd pass on this read. There's nothing particularly wrong with it, I just don't think it's the best holiday read. I won't be picking this up again in coming holiday seasons.

My favorite's gotta be the Kelly Link story (The Lady and the Fox) because it's the one I can stop thinking about. It was eerie and ambiguous and even though it was definitely, totally fantasy it didn't feel like it at all. It was so believable.
Loved the Rainbow Rowell (Midnights). Of course. I always believe her characters are into each other. I'm always swooning when they finally kiss. And Rowell's hometown pride for Omaha is icing on the cake.
I think I might have liked Stephanie Perkins' story (It's a Yuletide Miracle, Charlie Brown) even more having already read its sequel in the summer collection. Seeing Marigold and North back when and where it all began actually felt like unwrapping a present. I want Perkins to do spring and fall anthologies so I can read even more about them.
My other favorites were "What the Hell Have You Done, Sophie Roth" by Gayle Forman (could've guessed--I've also swooned for the romances in her full-length novels) and "Welcome to Christmas, CA" by Kiersten White. I've never read anything by her before, but y'know, changing lives through food? Of course it won me over. Although, it also was maybe the best example of why I sometimes find short stories frustrating. There just wasn't enough detail or information and everything felt too conveniently resolved because of it.

I'm still reading this book but I've been in a reading slump for a while & with how crazy it is at work, I have no time to relax and enjoy anything.. by the time I'm home.. I just want to sleep.. so reading has been a challenge for me. I'm not sure if I will actually finish this book before Christmas or if I even want to keep reading but regardless, I hope to have a better reading year in 2015!
For now, I am going to save this book as "Read"

I really disliked this book, that doesn't mean that everyone will, but I just could not get into it. The stories were predictable and one dimensional. However I do love most of these authors, I believe that many of these stories could have been great if they were longer and less rushed. That is just my opinion and I still think that many people could potentially enjoy this book, it just wasn't for me.

Siempre he tenido un soft spot por las relaciones que comienzan siendo mejores amigos. Me encanto cada palabra de esta historia y sobre todo, ese sentimiento de desesperación mientras esperaba que esos dos se juntaran.
The Lady and The Fox de Kelly Link: 2★
Un poquito extraña para mí. Y no demasiado navideña, pero tiene sus momentos.
