I think I liked this one even better than Widdershins. There was more Christine (being a total badass, as expected), Whyborne has a bit more confidence, and Griffin's insecurities are more obvious (well, obvious to everyone other than Whyborne) and I just want to hug him.

The mystery was interesting and well-written. Whyborne and Griffin's relationship is still a fun read. They have great chemistry and I do enjoy how the topic of Whyborne’s privileged upbringing has entered into the conversation. I do feel like they are over-using the ‘lovers tiff separating them only for immediate danger to make their argument seem irrelevant’ trope, but overall it is still enjoyable.

Plus Christine is there to deal devastating one-liners and roll her eyes at peak moments so A+

So, for a good bit of the book I thought we were actually building towards a Triad relationship with Elliot - it is not that. It is not that at all.

Love the pace and the whole vibe of the book overall.  I'm not usually into horror but I found the body horror disturbing in a compelling way here.
