This book's ending was better than book one's ending. That's pretty much all that improved, though.

….too many secrets and messy twists only to be brushed under the rug and everyone being TOO forgiving over some very dark secrets.
That being said, Sawyer and Lily’s friendship and love for each other was the real highlight of the series.
I think if you’re looking for a fun twisty series, the Debutante duology is a good choice, but I do think the plot could have been simpler and stayed a stand-alone, like it could have been just book one without the twist in the end that leads to book two.

Ok I really love this series, and I love jen barnes. This series was crazy good but the plot twist that I was up to was a bit too generic for my taste and the brother killing someone accidentally and sawyer being related to her bitchy enemy I couldn't. I'll come back to it later but I'm dnfing it for now

Page one reveals to us that our main character is buried alive... So it really gets you hooked from the get go! This book is full of twists and messy family drama which is fun to listen to but can lose some of its impact when it's so dramatic. Can someone please draw me a family tree?
This book was INSANE!!!! I’m still processing all the twists and turns of that ending!!! WOW!!!
