OK.

Okay, generally I liked this book. The mystery was far too easy to figure out and I was pretty frustrated that the protagonist appeared to be so thick and didn't figure it out until much later. However, as the start to a series it was pretty good and the premise is a lot of fun. I will probably pick up another one of these at some point, I think the series will be fun.

Am not even gonna beat about the bush, this book sucked. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Really great book, all the myths are extremely interesting. Can't wait for the second book.

Another book with a great idea and poor execution. The premise: a girl with psycho-metric powers faces off against evil. Good. The execution: girl just lost her mom, had to go to magic school where everyone dislikes her. After two months there, she still doesn't believe in magic - despite the fact that she sees it every day. Suddenly things happen and friendships build, interspersed with clichéd encounters and some actual action. And then there's Edward - I mean Logan. The hot (so so sexy, washboard abs, blah blah) guy who likes her but then warns her that he's not a hero. Is he possibly Loki's champion? Hmmmm that would be shocking, wouldn't it?
Finally, it irked me how her powers - and Gwen herself - was referred to as "gypsy." Why? She wasn't gypsy, her family wasn't...you get the idea.
Meh.

If I had a nickel for every mythological YA series where the MC had a talking sword that never shut up, I'd have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?
