This book took some warming up to for me. She strikes me as trying to be a female Harry Dresden, which initially put me off. By the end of the book I was racing through it though, so I'm excited to start the next book in the series. Hopefully we find out more details about how this weird magic/tech world works!
A interesting read. I did find myself quite confused at times and had to re-read a few paragraphs to have a better understanding of things. Some parts were a bit bland or dry but it still was an engrossing story. I don’t have any attachment to the characters yet but hopefully that changes when I read the next book. Keeping my fingers crossed that Curran gets character development in the next book because his personality is suffocating.. Onto the second book I go.
I loved this whole series! I started it through the pandemic and practically read on after another!

Lo encontré en varias listas de "si te gustó Buffy..."
"La magia muerde" se mueve en tópicos. La chica dura que responde a todo con frases agudas y carismáticamente tontas. Con su plantel de chicos duros, espadas y sangre. No tengo ningún problema con esto, porque es un tópico que disfruto bastante. Me gusta este tipo de historias. Su punto débil es el misterio a resolver, que me ha dado completamente igual.
Si queréis adentraros en el mundo de Kate Daniels preparaos para mucho contar y poco enseñar y bastantes hormonas. Esto, como casi todo, no es ni bueno ni malo. Cuestión de gustos.
Por último empecé en inglés pero me pasé a español cuando descubrí que estaba en mi biblioteca. La traducción se beneficiaría de una revisión y corrección de erratas. Aunque siento que el ritmo es mucho más cortado aquí a la vez se lee más rápido.
La edición española es de libro alto y estrecho. Un tipo de edición que personalmente no he entendido nunca y no me gusta nada. De las posibilidades de portada no me gusta ninguna.

A pretty dark fantasy, it keeps your attention and the world Andrews develops is very interesting, though you have to be patient trying to figure out the different aspects of it. I wasn't a huge fan of Kate's, for no particular reason, but still wanted to find out what happened. But there were several times I was really missing the light-hearted fun of Clean Sweep.😅

A fun read, interesting main character, and the world building of magic creating such overall chaos was compelling enough that I want to read the next one in the series.
